HOPE STARTS HERE STORIES
Ruhi
In March of 2025, this safe home in Southern Asia celebrated a powerful moment of restoration—the wedding of Ruhi, a resilient young woman whose story is a testament to hope and healing.
Ruhi was sold into prostitution at just 8 years old and endured 7 years of abuse until she was rescued during a police raid in the red-light area.
Following her rescue, she was placed in a government home, and in a couple of years, she was moved to a Project Rescue safe home.
Here, Ruhi found a new beginning.
When Ruhi arrived, her desire to study like other children began to show. She had never had the opportunity, had barely attended a school, and Ruhi bore physical scars from her past.
Abuse at the hands of the brothel owner had caused retinal damage in one eye. Due to the harsh conditions she faced in exploitation, Ruhi was half-blind but became filled with a desire to learn.
With love, care, and support at Home of Hope, her life began to change.
She learned to read and write for the first time. She also gained skills in tailoring and cooking—empowering her with tools for independence. Her retina was successfully operated on, and she regained vision in her previously damaged eye.
And then, something beautiful happened.
By God’s grace, Ruhi was introduced to Vivek—a kind-hearted man who works with a construction company in the neighboring city. Their relationship grew and then, Home of Hope had the privilege of celebrating their wedding—a moment that symbolized not just love, but restoration and a brand-new chapter of life.
Ruhi's story is one of unimaginable pain, but also of incredible transformation. Today, she steps into her future with dignity, strength, and the support of a loving community and husband.
Sharing powerful testimonies of transformation spread the hope that rescue and restoration are not only possible but actively happening ALL OVER THE WORLD. God isn’t done touch lives and breaking cycles of exploitation. Share Ruhi’s story to remind someone that God has a plan.
