Sarai

She hoped for more than the life her mother could offer her. She wanted more for her own children. 

Sarai's mother had been prostituted for many years, and her daughter was destined for the same. At 16, Sarai went to "work" with her mother at the brothel. 

She thought the stories her mother had told her could prepare her for what would happen. But the experiences plagued her. This is what she was to live as for the rest of her life? This is what she would have to suffer day after day?

She soon after ran away to escape the abuse she endured. Sarai met a man she thought she could trust to keep her safe.  He promised to save her and keep her out of the brothels. The safety he offered was a lie, and she spent years being trafficked across the world. 

She was sold into the United States and then back again across Europe. Now, with two young children, Sarai was desperate to feed her children and protect them from the life she was forced to live. She was finally able to escape her trafficker but had nowhere to go. She felt hopeless, exhausted, and defeated.

In this desperation, Sarai encountered our Project Rescue partners in Europe, who provided the vital care and support she and her children desperately needed. Struggling with the trauma and challenges of her past, Sarai found a haven of compassion and assistance. Our dedicated team offered her a safe space, medical aid, counseling, and resources to begin her healing journey.

Today, Sarai's children are thriving in school, filled with hope and excitement for the future. Meanwhile, Sarai is enveloped in an environment of love and care, empowering her to transform her life. With ongoing support, she is developing new skills, building confidence, and setting goals for a brighter future.
