Mahima

God orchestrated an incredible moment, putting our Project Rescue workers in the right place at the right time to save Mahima's life.

One morning, as they walked through a notorious red-light district in Southern Asia, they noticed a disturbing scene unfolding.

A man stood in front of one of the brothels, talking to the madam with a six-month-old baby girl in his arms. The sight was alarming enough, but what made it even more horrifying was the nature of their conversation. The man was heatedly negotiating a sale price for the baby's precious life.

The Project Rescue team immediately intervened, demanding to know where the baby had come from. The man stammered and failed to provide a straight answer, further raising their suspicions.

It became apparent that the baby had likely been stolen, possibly from another brothel.

The situation became tense as the team continued to press the man for information. Panicked, he thrust the baby into the arms of one of the workers and fled. The madam, seemingly indifferent to the entire scene, casually turned around and disappeared back into the brothel.

That was the miraculous moment when this sweet little girl, who had narrowly escaped a tragic fate, began her journey to a new life.

Safely cradled in the arms of our team, she was taken to a Project Rescue home, where she was welcomed with open arms and hearts.

Our dedicated staff, recognizing the significance of this moment, decided to name her Mahima, which means "glory."

Today, Mahima is a testament to the power of rescue and restoration. She’s now a college student pursuing a degree in Social Work.

She embodies a quiet confidence that shines through in everything she does. When asked about the source of her strength, she gives credit to her deep and abiding relationship with God. Mahima's life is a beautiful story of hope, resilience, and the incredible impact of love and care.
