HOPE STARTS HERE STORIES

Adah

ADAH WAS BORN TO A VERY POOR FAMILY.

Adah is 28 years old and has a four-year-old son. Due to a lack of opportunity, Adah hasn’t been able to escape poverty, and now she has her son to provide for. Desperate for a way to support her child, she accepted help from a friend who introduced her to Mahmek, a man who promised her work. However, Mahmek was a pimp who forced Adah into sexual slavery, trapping her in a horrifying reality where she was on call for clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mahmek threatened Adah and her son, saying he would hand them over to the police to be deported or throw them out to live on the streets. These threats kept Adah in a constant state of fear and submission. Her son, just a small child, was forced to witness his mother’s suffering. He heard her cries, the insults, and the mockery of the men who came into their room, often drunk, dirty, and violent. This environment left deep emotional scars on both Adah and her son.

The police, aware of the dire situation, contacted Project Rescue and asked if we could find a place for Adah and her son. Despite their lack of identification or legal status, the police issued a safe passage, allowing Adah and her son to travel safely on a boat with our team. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for them.

Adah and her son are safe in one of our Project Rescue homes. They have a room together where her son has new clothes, toys, and space to play. He has started school, and his teachers say he is a bright little boy who is eager to learn and full of potential. Adah is attending classes and dreams of becoming a social worker to help others who are in situations similar to what she experienced.

Today, Adah is slowly healing from her trauma, surrounded by support and care. She is building a better future for herself and her son, filled with hope and new opportunities.

Adah’s story is one of restoration and hope. Even when a survivor escapes their trafficker, it is difficult for a woman or child to find their way safely. Adah’s testimony is evidence of how miraculously God works in the lives of these women and children. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to hear more stories of hope and active ministry updates.
