In 2013 our Project Rescue affiliate in Madrid, Spain opened the home “New Beginning” for victims of human trafficking and women at risk. The home has served more than 20 women during the first year, coming from a variety of countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. They have been provided with many services to meet their medical, psychological, legal, educational, vocational and spiritual needs to help guide them to complete restoration. Several of the women have come to Jesus during their time at the home, and all of them have been touched by His love and care.
The ministry began as an outreach to women at risk at the Center of Internment for Foreigners. The Project Rescue team continues to visit the women imprisoned there several times a week, providing them with needed hygiene kits, clothing, and Christian books in their own language. It is a safe environment to help identify victims of trafficking and other vulnerable women and offer them an opportunity of a better life. The team has visited more than 350 women from 50 different countries.
Plans are underway to open a new home that will open its doors to more women at risk along with their children. Please join with us in prayer for a strong team to be developed and for all the legal, financial, and logistical pieces to be put in place for this new home.
